The beauty created by land surrounded by nature

Okinawa holds a deeply rooted belief in the presence of gods within nature. The vibrant cobalt blue sea glistens under the sunlight, while colorful flowers bloom in shades of yellow, purple, and red. Many people must be captivated by the beauty of Okinawa. There are dishes adorned with designs like traditional arabesques and fish patterns, as well as vessels that seem to express the color of the sea, reminding us of the scenery in Okinawa. Furthermore, there is Ryukyu glass that sparkles and shines, reflecting light from outside. Amid material shortages after the war, artisans turned to repurposing discarded bottles, giving rise to a unique radiance through recycled glass that embodies Okinawa’s strong commitment to environmental conservation.

Add a touch of beauty to your routine

The plate with a captivatingly beautiful blue, exuding a strong presence, is a creation from the “Kazeno Shima” studio. Inside its gently rounded and soft shape, the vivid and striking red arabesque patterned bowl is crafted by the Shinsei Toubo. Additionally, when you turn your attention to Ryukyu glass, you might find glasses resembling the vivid red hues of a sunset. Created by the studio “RYUKYU GLASS WORKS Umikaze,” these glasses, with bubbles visible within the glass, evoke the depth of the sea. Potteries and glass, which change their expressions with variations in soil, water, and temperature, are each unique. As you hold your favorites in your hand, it becomes enjoyable to ponder what to serve in them for today.
