Are you planning a visit to Tokyo DisneySea or Disneyland? If so, have you booked your restaurant reservations? The dining reservation system at Tokyo Disney Resort can change frequently, making it challenging to keep up with the latest information. With the increasing crowds, I strongly recommend booking at least one restaurant in advance to ensure a smoother and more enjoyable experience.

1. What is Priority Seating?

Priority Seating at Tokyo DisneySea and Disneyland is a reservation system that allows you to book a table at select restaurants in advance. This service helps reduce wait times and ensures that you have a spot around your chosen time. However, it’s important to note that Priority Seating is not a guaranteed reservation. While it secures a table around your booking time, there may still be a short wait during peak periods.

4. How to use Priority Seating?

Preparation

1. Download the official app.

Firstly, download the Tokyo Disney Resort mobile app. While you can book Priority Seating through the official website, the mobile app is more user-friendly and will be essential for booking shows, rides, and mobile orders and more, once you enter the park.

Please find the url below for downloading one.

2. Log in to the App.

You don’t need to log in before booking Priority Seating, but logging in before confirmation will streamline the process. It’s recommended to log in for a smoother transaction.

The Steps on Mobile App

Here’s a step-by-step guide for booking Priority Seating using the mobile app:

  1. Tap the Restaurant Menu: Open the app and navigate to the restaurant menu.
  2. Tap “Book Restaurant”: Select the option to book a table.
  3. Stay in the Queue: Wait in the virtual queue if prompted.
  4. Select Details: Pick a date, time, number of people, and specify the restaurant name if you have a preference. Then press “Search.”
  5. Choose a Restaurant and Time Slot: Select your preferred restaurant and available time slot from the search results.
  6. Enter Your Phone Number: Provide your phone number for confirmation.
  7. Press “Agree to Notifications”: Accept notifications to receive updates and confirmation about your booking.

5. Tips to use Priority Seating?

a. Booking Time

Popular restaurants, such as Ristorante di Canaletto at Tokyo DisneySea or Blue Bayou Restaurant at Tokyo Disneyland, can be quite competitive. Booking as early as possible is crucial, especially during peak times.

Here’s a table outlining the booking times for Priority Seating at Tokyo DisneySea and Tokyo Disneyland:

Booking Time Guests Staying at Disney Hotels Guests Not Staying at Disney Hotels
Until the Day Before
Available from 9:00 AM one month before the desired date until 8:59 PM the day before
Available from 10:00 AM one month before the desired date until 8:59 PM the day before
On the Day
From 9:00 AM
From 9:00 AM

If you are not staying at Disney Hotels, reservations can be made starting from 10:00 AM one month before your desired date. For example, if you want to book for August 31st, reservations are available starting from July 31st at 10:00 AM.

b. Log in Early

It’s advisable not to log in exactly at 10:00 AM due to high online traffic. Instead, log in around 9:57 AM to wait in the queue. This way, you will be navigated to the reservation screen right at 10:00 AM, improving your chances of securing a spot.

c. Cancellation Timing

For Disney Resort hotels, cancellation fees apply starting from two weeks before the reservation date. Therefore, by targeting this timeframe, you might find that some restaurant reservations become available due to cancellations. Keep an eye out for these opportunities, as you may be able to secure a spot if others cancel their bookings.

d. Try on the actual date

If you are unable to secure a reservation in advance, it is still possible to inquire about availability at the restaurant on the day of your visit. There are no cancellation fees for reservations, so it’s worth checking as there may be availability on the day. You can either visit the restaurant directly starting from 10:00 AM to ask about open spots or check the app after the park opens, as reservations may become available.
