Natural Beauty and Culinary Delights of the East Coast Resort
Do you know about Restaurant Hiramatsu? Leading French cuisine in Japan, ‘Restaurant Hiramatsu’ was founded in 1982 as a small restaurant in Nishi-Azabu. The cuisine, crafted by Grand Chef Hiromitsu Hiramatsu, has captivated numerous gastronomes with its unique French dishes born from both solid technique and rich sensibility. Beyond the restaurant business, starting with the opening of ‘THE HIRAMATSU HOTELS & RESORTS Kenjima’ in 2016, they ventured into the hotel business. Hiramatsu Ginoza, established in 2018, marks their first resort destination.
'Gourmet' Offerings
To begin with, let’s talk about this hotel, starting with its ‘gourmet’ offerings. Hiromitsu’s belief is in ‘dishes that leave a strong memory of what you ate, respecting the ingredients.’ The beautiful dishes crafted from fresh Okinawan ingredients were all impressive. Without erasing the original flavors of the ingredients, the deliciousness is brought out. To eat these dishes alone is reason enough to stay here once again.
Untouched Nature
To reach the village of Ginoza, located right in the middle of Okinawa Main Island, it takes about 1 hour by car from Naha Airport. Nestled in the vast untouched nature, the hotel boasts only 19 rooms. Impressively crafted to harmonize with nature, the orange and white buildings stand out against the cobalt blue sea. The rooms are divided into Terrace Houses and Villas, with the Villas offering detached units and some with private pools. The Terrace type we stayed in is the ‘Premium Twin,’ located in the highest position among all guest rooms. With nothing to obstruct the view, it provides the best scenery overlooking the sky and sea. Outside the room, there is a Jacuzzi and a summer bed for relaxation, offering the opportunity to unwind while gazing at the changing beautiful sky.
Unique Experience
A pool overlooking the sea stretches right in front of you. Next to it, morning yoga sessions take place, and exercising to the sound of the waves is truly exceptional. There’s a cafe by the poolside where, in addition to complimentary drinks, you can also order light snacks. Of course, snacks crafted by Restaurant Hiramatsu ensure deliciousness, but the allure also lies in the chance to savor Okinawan cuisine created by the renowned French restaurant Hiramatsu. Furthermore, events take place in the lounge area. While Okinawa is famous for awamori, there are times when specially selected awamori by Hiramatsu is served, along with the opportunity to taste Okinawan sweets crafted by their pastry chef.
