Sagemon are handmade fabric ornaments shaped like cranes, rabbits, and other lucky symbols, combined with bright “Yanagawa Mari” thread balls. Each piece carries wishes for happiness and good health from family members. 2: Hina no Tsurushi Kazari Festival
The 28th Izu Inatori Onsen Hina no Tsurushi Kazari Festival will be held from January 20 (Monday) to March 31 (Monday), 2025 in Inatori Onsen, Shizuoka Prefecture. The main venue is Bunka Park Hina-no-Yakata, known as one of Japan’s three major hanging hina decoration displays.
This tradition began in the late Edo period and is unique to Inatori. Its exact origins are unclear, but it has been passed down for over 100 years.
At Susanoo Shrine, hina dolls and hanging decorations will be displayed on 118 steps until March 9 (Sunday), 2025. This is the largest tiered hina doll display in Japan, offering a stunning view.
