Where is Hieizan Sakamoto?
It is located in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture, at the foot of Mount Hiei. This area has been designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings by the Japanese government. It is also home to many temple residences (satobo) associated with the World Heritage Site, Enryakuji Temple on Mount Hiei. What is this event?
NAKED, INC. will hold “NAKED Yoru Sanpo™ Hieizan Sakamoto” from Friday, November 1st to Sunday, December 8th, 2024, in the Hieizan Sakamoto area, where the Enryakuji Temple, a World Heritage Site and one of the cultural assets of ancient Kyoto, is located. The temple precincts of Shojoji, said to be the birthplace of Saicho, the founder of Enryakuji Temple and a revered sacred site, will be illuminated for the first time. Visitors can take a leisurely evening stroll through the temple grounds, lit with warm lights inspired by dandelion flowers, or enjoy light snacks from food trucks while experiencing the calm of an autumn night.

Additionally, at the Kyuchikurin-in, a special opportunity awaits 200 visitors per day, offering breathtaking views of the autumn foliage. For an entrance fee of around 1,000 yen, visitors can explore the beautifully illuminated fall scenery in this historically rich area, which is normally closed to the public.
