From Morita-kan to Hotel Niwa Tokyo: A Cozy Retreat with Rich Heritage

The hotel is enveloped in a cozy atmosphere. Its roots trace back to the traditional Japanese inn ‘Morita-kan,’ established in 1935. Originally, it catered to the needs of university professors exploring old literature in Jinbocho, served as a standard stay for business travelers, and was a preferred accommodation for school trips from various regions. Notably, during the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, it transformed into lodging for the families of foreign athletes. In 2009, the hotel underwent a re-establishment and emerged as Hotel Niwa Tokyo.

Enjoy Kaiseki Cuisine, in the green

In the Japanese language, ‘Niwa’ translates to ‘garden.’ This hotel boasts four small Japanese gardens, with a stunning rooftop terrace on the top floor surrounded by water and lush greenery. The hotel features two restaurants: LIEU, offering French cuisine, and YUKURI, specializing in Japanese cuisine. At YUKURI, guests can savor authentic Japanese dishes while gazing at the inner courtyard through large glass windows. Indulge in seasonal, fresh ingredients with the option to enjoy kaiseki cuisine.
